BANKRUPTCY - MAKING THE DECISION.

Filing for Bankruptcy is one of the most difficult decisions of your life and you want to talk to someone who can help you through the process. Most people who file for bankruptcy are hard working, responsible individuals who have always paid their bills.  Usually they have had some bad luck that turned out to be financially devastating.  Sometimes it’s a layoff or a pay cut, a divorce, a disabling injury, medical bills, a loss of a family breadwinner or a failed small business venture.  Whatever the reason, it seems impossible to get out from under the financial strain. If you are in this situation, you probably know very little about bankruptcy but hope it will help you get a new financial start.

For those people trying to decide whether they should
file bankruptcy the top questions we receive are:

Will all of my debts be discharged if I file a
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?

Is there more than one type of bankruptcy?

If I file for bankruptcy will I lose my home, car, furniture, or other personal property?

Once the decision to file has been made the most common questions are:

Now that I have decided to file, what do I need to do to get the case started?

How much does it cost to file?

How do I stop the phone calls from collection agencies?

We are a debt relief agency.  We help people
          file for bankruptcy relief under
                  the Bankruptcy Code.

Kentucky does not certify specialties
of legal practice.

How is the Abell Law Office different from other firms that do bankruptcies?  I provide personal service to each client.  Since many bankruptcy firms process a large volume of cases, your initial information is often processed by a non-attorney staff member,  you then have a short meeting with a lawyer and once you pay your money, you work with a clerk or paralegal to prepare the petition.  The next time you see or talk to your lawyer may well be the day you appear for the meeting of creditors. Except for your initial interview and court appearances, in these large volume law firms, most of your contacts will be with paralegals and non-attorney staff members.  The personal service you receive from these types of firms will not be provided by your lawyer.

In my law firm, I am the person with whom you meet, I will answer your questions and guide you through the process. I will return your calls and review your petition with you in addition to appearing at the meeting of creditors and any other hearings.
